The next best thing to cordless is a very long cord.

I made some new purchases for my computer on Friday; namely, a new mouse (my old one was having clicking issues) and a ten-foot USB extension cord. I can now, with a little work, sit on the couch and direct some of what goes on on my computer.

That doesn't mean I have the eyesight to actually tell what's going on from eight feet away, but it's a start.

I'm also in the midst of dying my hair blue. All those that entirely failed to notice when I bleached it (oh, you too?) will now find it even more obvious that something - hard to say what - is different. This particular blue dye came without any of the accessories, namely gloves to keep the dye off my hands and a cap to keep my hair off of my neck, so I've been dying many other things blue as well. Hairbrush, bathroom sink, whatever.

Last night, Robin and I discovered a particularly good movie a Hollywood Video: The Five Obstructions, a Danish film. One filmmaker challenges another to remake one of his old films five times, each time with a different catch to it. The result is really cool, a commentary not only on filmmaking, but alos hero worship and whatever else. It's the kind of thing I'd expect to see in Mayeri's Language of Film, and I think I actually took more away from the film after taking the class than I would have beforehand. (I was also only sober for very loose definitions of the word, which may have had something to do with it.)

This new optical mouse has the design feature that the lens is slightly prodruding from the bottom of the mouse. This wouldn't be so much a problem, given that I don't know what it does for the performance of the mouse, except that it actually protrudes farther than the feet that the mouse is supposed to slide on. So that leave me a rickety and unstable mouse, unless I can find a way to extend the feet.
