So, I think my chances of voting in the upcoming election are rapidly dwindling. Although I never actually thought it'd make a difference (most of Colorado votes exactly how Rush Limbaugh tells them to), I wanted to, and it's mostly my fault that I didn't.
- When I first sent in my absentee ballot request, I forgot to sign it.
- They sent me back a notice that I hadn't, and sent me a new application.
- They conveniently didn't tell me where to send the new application.
- I sent it back to the address it came from - j.random box in the county building in Castle Rock. Makes sense, yes?
- Today, I looked at some list of where to send ballots for all the states. Apparently I needed to send it to PO Box 13 * randInt(9, 23) - the position of jupiter. "Sending to a different address will make it difficult to process in a timely manner."
Needless to say, I'm not in the best of moods right now. WHY GOD WHY would you write one address for the OFFICE OF THE CLERK AND RECORDER on your outgoing mail, tell people to send stuff back to the OFFICE OF THE CLERK AND RECORDER, and then have the OFFICE OF THE CLERK AND RECORDER secretly inside a PO box somewhere else???
I have a friend in Germany who's received her absentee ballot. I don't have mine.
Also, while I have five chapters of reading to do for tomorrow, not to mention a midterm tomorrow, Stone has decided that 4:30 to 6:30 will be when all the graders get together and grade everything at once. And the arrow keys on this terminal don't work right.
