I imagine most of you know what's really on my mind this break.
I talked to Audrey this morning, before I left for town. She... I don't know. I hate telephones, and can never manage to say everything I need to. Consequently, I ended up nodding and agreeing while she said that she was recovering from a cold, and would call me back later to make plans. I said when I'd end up being home and let the conversation end.
I notice now that that makes absolutely no sense. "I'd love to see you" is one thing, but I've made it clear that I'm absolutely free, and if she really wants to see me she just needs to tell me when and where. Instead, I'm getting the same runaround I got in the summer.
I'm not trying again to reach her. She knows it's her turn, now, and if she doesn't take it, it'll finally be time to close that book, forever.
Gods, I'm scared of change still.
