"Your fingers would recall their own strength better if they grasped your sword."

The nice thing about Sting, as compared to larger weapons, is that I can (albeit carefully) swing it around in my room and not hit anything unless I try. I let some of my energy bleed off by taking it up, swinging it through a few clumsy slices and stabs. I had an insane urge to sharpen it, to use it to destroy rather than merely exercise. More in the long term, in a more stable frame of mind, I want to learn to swing it more expertly, not look like a wannabe with a sword but at least like I could fight with it. Actual fighting, no - that sword cost me too much to chip and dent it in even controlled parries and stabs against a similarly armed opponent - but some martial meditations I could go through. Or wantonly destroy aluminum cans when I'm really angry.

That sword is coming back to school with me, yes indeed.

Add to to-do over break:

-Rig Sting's plaque to hang from my bed in the dorm
-Find, make, or scavange something to use as a scabbard
-Get something better than that wax paper to transport it in

I am going to try to sleep now. It is not likely that I will have much success. Rotated schedule, anyone?

you might want to look into whether you can bring it on an airplane, and whether swords are legal in California....plently of people have them anyway, but if you care about the legality..you might wanna find out. Or not...since it likely wont' matter

good luck on the sleep thing.
