Family gathering

Yeah, it's that day again, the family Christmas Eve dinner. The big news this year was that my stepcousin Jennifer is engaged. The guy proposed to her just a few days ago (with so little class as to do it at the castle rock factory shops) but apparently it was no surprise, they only waited because there are no good diamonds in Georgia. I proceed to spare the lecture on blood diamonds and the locked market on them and etcetera. But yes. My othercousin (father's sister's daughter, this one) was there too, with her children.... it scares me that people that close to me in my generation are starting to spawn the next generation. Ack. At least the kids seem ok - Jessica is in Germany for whatever reason so they're getting a little bilingual. Alexandria proved that she could count to 20 in German. I managed to hold my tongue and distinctly not wish anyone a happy Solstice, and the fortunate thing about having old relatives is that things end early. Thus I am back.

Tomorrow is apparently skiing, and a condo in Avon for the night, then another day of skiing. I don't know if I'm up for it right now. Been feeling restless and blah. I guess it'll be good for me... I guess. Really, I just want a warm pair of arms to hold me, to listen to my love's heart beat, wrapped up warmly together. Ack.
