EEP!
Finally got back in touch with the Websense guy. Felt like the interview went... well enough. I was answering "no" to an awful lot of the questions he had about stuff I'd had experience with, even if I made sure to say I was willing to learn. Made sure to temper my lack of job experience with the fact that I VOLUNTEERED at a CHRISTIAN camp a couple summers ago, never mind the facts that they were neighbors, my parents were paying me for it, and I'm not Christian. Tried to ask what, exactly, the job would entail and got pretty much a deflection - only that I'd be partnered with someone who'd delegate stuff to me.
So now I wait for a call. If the manager likes what this guy says about me, they'll ask me down for an interview.
Maybe as soon as tomorrow.
In San Diego.
Say it with me now.... ACK!!
I need to figure out just how long that drive is expected to take, then budget myself *at least* 30% more time than that. Early I can deal with, late not so much. In the meantime, I also need to figure out exactly how to best present myself in an interview... I've never done this before....
