Note: never underestimate the importance of a waterbed heater. A 75-degree bed is freaking cold and only gets colder as the night goes on.

That said, thicker blankets, bathmat, and shower curtain are required before sleeping there again.

Do you have a mattress pad? That helps a lot too at insulating the body from a too cold water bed.

Not of the right size, but it'll be something to keep in mind. Thanks.

I slept quite happily for years on an unheated water bed with a reasonably thick mattress pad.

Shower curtain?

Sleeping involves waking up; waking up involves taking a shower. Taking a shower shouldn't involve getting the floor soaked in water.

Obviously.

I was worried about, you know, leak in bed requiring a shower curtain for the sleeping.

You too? I keep waiting for the post that goes "Wheee! Waterbed! *bounce* ~sploosh~" :)

It'll be a while before that one - we'll have to get over the paranoia of it actually happening first :)
