Gaaah.

For those who don't know, I'm a Council Member (translation - I help keep the setting coherent) for a living-style online D&D world. I don't habitually DM for the world, but I am a player in the setting. There are very specific guidelines for what material is allowed, and what is not - the core rulebooks, and the Complete series; but any prestige classes need to be adapted and made setting specific. Nothing else. Anything else needs to be setting-specific, written up, and approved.

So I've taken over DMing for the group I play in, for a while, to give the regular DM a break. One character, a high-damage focused barbarian, also has anger management issues and was forced to be suggested to leave. Now he wants to bring in a new character - using material from Book of Exalted Deeds and Defenders of the Faith. Basically (from what I've gathered) he wants to play a pious, fairly lawful battle medic. The rest of the group, as a whole, is pretty much indifferent to helping people or taking orders.

There's not really any niche left in the party for this character to fill, either. I don't want to tell him to bugger off, really, but I find myself looking for excuses to get rid of him.

So, what I need to do is borrow Defenders of the Faith and Complete Divine, if anyone has them, and mediate a solution.

Hrmph. He tries to play battle medic, Kirran'll probably hate him immediately. Try to take my place, will he?

Hrmph.

Ah, but the conceit I'm using to get him with the group has the provision that, if you tell him to stay out of your way, he has no choice to. He's under orders.

We'll see if it works out. I'm not quite pessimistic about it.

Geeeh. I'd almost prefer Gadreman over that. I think I have less disrespect for poor anger management than for spineless drivel.
