Well, so much for reliability. The internet died at the apartment at about 9 this morning, so I'm back down in the lab looking for an explanation. If I can't turn anything up, I'll go back and call Verizon and bitch them out.

I've seen a lot of flags half-mast lately and not been sure why. I guess either people are still mourning Reagan, or (more likely) it's just for the continuing violence in the middle east. Or a lot of flag-hoisters are lazy.

Reagan, I think. You probably wouldn't have noticed it except they moved the flagpole. I've been seeing flags at half mast since he died; Bush apparently called for a whole month of lowered flags.
