Infernal creature!!

It seems that my router's DHCP service, now that I've gotten the rebate for it, has decided to stop working. I shut down my desktop, then brought it back up and it entirely failed to access the internet. I could see through the windows network just fine; I could ping localhost, but I couldn't ping the modem or anything beyond. My laptop was doing the same thing. I went in to give it manual settings for IP and gateway (and stole DNS servers from Robin's computer) and now it seems to work again - except I can't access the modem's config page still. I can ping the modem fine, but Mozilla won't load it.

I'm frustrated. This week is going to suck. Lots.

Maybe try just power-cycling the router. That's our general techinque at home when either our modem or firewall/router stops acting nicely.

Yup. This worked for about 6 months with our Linksys router, but after that, the DHCP service died completely. It still worked as a router, but DHCP went splat.
