Closure?

I hate writing conclusions. After all, I've already written all this drivel once already; why should I have to reiterate it for people who weren't paying attention? Silly question, I know, I know how things read beter with conclusions, but that doesn't mean I like writing them.

Brian! Get it over with already!

Yeah, yeah, I'm going.

They are annoying. The general way I've been taught to write papers is to tell people what you're going to tell them (intro), then tell people stuff, then tell them what you already told them (conclusion), on the theory that by the time they get to the third time they're told, they should actually get it. I don't like it. They should be paying more attention.

QED.

Conclusions are also a chance to show how your paper relates to something larger. I've found a quick reiteration, along with how the parts relate to a larger whole works well... at least, I used to hate conclusions until I figured out that was what you're supposed to do.
