Very kind of Pitzer to leave their network open to all comers, no?  I suppose an unsecured wired network is somewhat less dangerous than an unsecured wireless, but still...

On a related note, Robin, I fixed the long blue ethernet cord if you'd rather use that one than the one you're using now.

They do physically restrict access to the buildings where the plugs are - I went through two code locks (albeit the easy kind to brute force) to get here. When you're already on a system where you can trust everyone there, securing the ethernet ports seems a little redundant.

For example, if I wanted to hack the network, while I'm at it I might as well bring in a set of boltcutters and liberate this shiny G5 I'm using for video production.
