Dreams (last night, didn't have time to write them down this morning)
For those that haven't been to my house (most of you) my house sits above a small pond that is family property. On the other side of the pond is a hill, including a cabin that belongs to some cousins. On the other side of the hill is the highway and a defunct Christian camp. In the dream, the fences between these areas were a lot more distinct - the cousins and the camp had both sold out to some major resort, and the company had turned the hill into a storage spot for all the guacamole they needed (I'm talking huge amounts, here). Since the hil was still technically my family's property, and I didn't like the place, I decided to go out walking on it. As I was walking on it it started sliding down toward the fences, and people started to notice. Even though I wasn't doing anything illegal, I decided to get away as fast as possible. I tried to run across the stuff toward the nearest side fence, but it didn't work so well. I eventually got around, though, and headed back to the house. By the time I got there it had sunk in that this was really fucking weird so I told my mother (who was there, naturally) "If I'm not dreaming, the people are going to have some awkward questions." Oh, yeah, and there was someone in there yelling at me for messing up the guacamole-hill.
I was taking an elevator from the first floor of the mall to the second. The floor was in two parts and the parts moved, so I was wobbling them around. This broke the elevator and it started falling. It fell a whole lot farther than one floor, certainly, and it wasn't quite in freefall because I had enough weight to curl myself up into a ball on the floor because this was the way to protect yourself. But apparently I didn't have to - the elevator shaft at the bottom curved out and went horizontal, so the elevator just slowed to a stop and I got out. Mall security (in the form of
mconbere) drove up on a golf cart to apologize profusely and make sure I was ok.
My dreams worry me sometimes.
In other news, I've started the process of getting into my fall room. I don't have a key yet, but I went in through a window to unlock the door, and the bed is now where I want it. I need to figure out what to do with the rest of my furniture, not to mention my computer desk - the remaining places for it all block either the window, or the closet, or the radiator, and tend to be far from the ethernet port to boot. Next step, unfortunately, is probably bookshelves.
But for now, I should be off to bed.
