Crack?
Skiing today and, well, I didn't wear enough clothing. When I can feel the cold wind ripping through the front of my jacket and pants, I know I shoulda worn something besides pajama pants and a turtleneck underneath. (You might say, or I'm going to fast. I scoff at the notion and state that turning is for wimps.) Also, my toes felt frozen solid much of the time, even after I took a timeout after a few runs to shove the air-activated warmers from my pocket into my toes. Damn things never did warm up, really, but my toes are still attached so everything worked out. Of course, as soon as I took them out at lunch and put them on the table, they warmed right up - same thing at the end of the day, and they sadistically stayed warm for the entire drive home. I was disappointed in myself - I was getting tired by lunch, and really didn't want to go back out even for the hour we took. I want to be in better shape than this, really.
Brady wants an Alpha Centauri rematch tonight. But he won't beat me.... no, he won't. I'm definitely going to try to find a group to play-by-email next semester - maybe by May we can actually get somewhere. It's a great game, but unfortunately not one that lends itself to multiplayer.
Anyway - I think I hear dinner calling me. Or my stomach, anyway.
