Back to pondering Burning Man again - tempted to make a community with that name, so if anything does happen with putting together a Mudd/Claremont/Etc group for next year... or some following year... there can be a place to gather thoughts about it.

I spent three nights at Claremont. It was August, and I wasn't certain if the a/c was broken, or if it was simply non-existant in the dorms.

Those were happy times.

There was also a very good Persian/Italian restaurant across the street, but I cannot, for the life of me, fathom the name of it.

Depends on the dorm you were in, but probably non-existant. All my friends still there have sweltering in 100-degree heat for the first week of classes.

The restaurant you remember is likely Sorrento's, which got torn down and replaced by a Starbucks a while back.
