Making the gods OGL compliant and no longer using Forgotten Realms (or whatever) material, and basically organizing the gods a lot better.

In a land where deities and mortals mingled less than a century ago, there are no atheists. Every mortal has a patron deity who will claim the soul when the body dies. Most people do not, of course, pray only to that god, instead calling upon whichever deity is appropriate to the task at hand, but the patron has the final say over the soul's ultimate fate.

! Conflict Eternal
In the conflict of good vs. evil on Aerde, it is difficult to determine who is on which side. At the core of this conflict is the fact that there are two different factions of evil in the land. Different objectives keep the Destroyer and the Dominator gods from working together consistently enough to overtly win the struggle. The following are the divisions most commonly agreed on by theologians.

!! The Benevolent Gods
These are the nurturers of Aerde. They care about the creations they have made and assist them in their own ways, often in ways the beneficiary can perceive. Different views, however, limit the amount of cooperation between these gods, and this has resulted in their usually acting independently of one another. ((Adenan Stronghand)), ((Os)) and ((Targan Lithmoor)) are the most active of these gods. ((Trandim)) and ((Belarna)) also lend what help they can, but one is aloof and the other isn't trusted.

* ((Belarna)) - Beauty, Foresight, Drama, Grief
* ((Galvar Thuradoom)) - Dwarves, Mining, Stone

!! The Dominator Gods
These are led by a need to control and conquer all of Aerde, placing mortals under their infernal rule; they do not want Aerde destroyed. They have difficulty following anybody for any period of time, so the leadership is always contested. ((Beher)), ((Uluk)), ((Kithra)), and ((Bajaer)) usually front any major push toward the goal.

((Parushan)) leads the Destroyers and ((Kirok)), ((Khalust|Khal'ust)), and ((Caelon)) help to further the cause toward their final goals - the release of their brethren the Old Ones, and to plunge the universe into endless chaos.

These are apathetic about the ultimate fate of Aerde. While they all have cares and concerns, they rarely take an active role, instead preferring to let matters sorts themselves out. ((Brand)) is the most notable neutral god, along with his able lieutenant ((Alyhndro)), who both care far more about the way a battle is fought than the outcome.

These are the independents, concerned primarily with their domains. They are almost oblivious to the world at large if it doesn't pertain to them directly. However, if nature or the natural balance is endangered, they band together quite well (though none really trust ((Murryghn)) due to her primeval, violent nature).

Taken together the Nature deities are a powerful faction, befitting Aerde’s primal nature and vast stretches of wilderness. As civilization progresses these deities may wane in influence, but not if they have any say in the matter.

In an effort to expunge Wizards of the Coast IP, the Gods are undergoing some major changes. The final versions will be posted under http://www.the13kingdoms.org/tiki-index.php?page=Gods within the week, superceding what is in the system document, but here are the highlights:

New domains (see http://www.the13kingdoms.org/tiki-index.php?page=Spells for details): Moon, Cavern, Time, Tyranny, Vermin, Plague, Suffering, Fate, Malice, Renewal, Undeath.

Murryghn has the Repose domain instead of the Death domain.
Parushan has the Malice domain instead of the Hate domain.
Shadoth has the Vermin domain instead of the Spiders domain.
Targan Lithmoor has the Magic domain instead of the Elf domain.
Uluk has the Tyranny domain instead of the Orc domain.
Aethaddyn has the Vermin domain instead of the Slime domain.
