It's not going fast enough to cover decent amounts of ground in a reasonable time (like biking) and it's not going slow enough to make it fun to look at things (like walking). Add that to the knees thing and the out-of-shape learning curve... and yeah. Not my thing.

Picking heavy things up repeatedly, on the other hand, is unexpectedly fun.
