Crisis averted
I was working on my laptop in the lounge, swearing at one of Restivo's papers, when my laptop decided to blink a blue screen and promptly reboot. I immediately screamed (and thanked the battery meter for reminding me to save only a few minutes before) and tried futilely to revive my computer long enough to get an FTP to Charlie. No luck. I ran upstairs to plug it in and tried to hold it in the doorway, plugged in, for enough wireless access.... still nothing. I couldn't even make it talk to my desktop over a direct ethernet connection. Finally I begged Robin for a Zip disk and hoped that by the magic of plug and play, the external zip would be happy if I plugged it and a bunch of mac files into SoultoothII's lonely USB port. Thankfully, it was, and I have most of a hum paper on my desktop. As for SoultoothII, it's sitting sulkily atop my bookshelf, sucking on its power cable like a dejected seven-year-old. It's in timeout for what it did.
