I get a new alternator. The advantage of it being at the dealer is that they have a pile of alternators that will fit right into it, so I can go down there in a bit and pick it up. The total damage is somewhere around three hudred dollars, which - while I'm not thrilled about - I can certainly afford. It's a far cry from a transmission replacement, which was what I was afraid of.
