memnus: Me with my bow at full draw, with quote "Just Dynamic Tension" (Dynamic Tension)

Fortunately, I rarely need to write by hand anymore.

Despite not having my own limbs, I took my bow down to the range to see about getting it set up. It's a longer riser than I'm used to, so if I'd used the same limbs I would have ended up with a *lighter* draw, which felt like a step in the wrong direction. Digging around a bit, however, revealed a 36-pound set, about halfway between what I'm used to and what my new ones will (eventually) be. I quickly discovered a few things.

- My riser has no spot for a clicker plate. That means I need to either draw my arrows uncomfortably far, or get them cut.
- My V-bar block is poorly shaped for the riser, so I need to acquire a spacer bar to keep from scratching. Until then, shooting without.
- The riser is a bit heaver than I'm used to, but without the V-bar I didn't notice.
- That extra two pounds is particularly nasty ony my fingers, despite the two layers of leather between the string and my skin.
- The draw weight, however, is finally correct for my arrows, so I can now properly tune.

I did some bareshaft tuning, and got it close even as far as 50 meters. I also did some 70 meter shooting, which I haven't done in a while, and only missed once.

Now, I need to run to the Coop for lunch, then do Graphics, then come back up for Funball. Funball!

Funball!

Use some double sticky tape to attach a piece of metal as a clicker plate? I've seen the good double sticky stuff (thick, comes in a large roll with red backing) used to hold stuff on a bow before.
