Linux issues

Does anyone know how to clear the DNS/IP cache in Linux (Fedora Core 5, specifically)? My computer is inexplicably convinced that mail.google.com is 212.58.240.135, which is actually newsrss.bbc.co.uk...

Sometimes running a whois fixes this, but not often.

Restart nscd. It's probably something like
/etc/init.d/nscd restart
but I don't know exactly where FC5 keeps its init scripts.
