[HCI] Another image set

Now using a perceptual model of color vision, with the deficiency introduced in the red-green opposing signal.

Dan, Jeff, how do these two compare? Can you distinguish the red/green checkerboard in the lower half of the left image? If there are two colors in the left that you can't distinguish, can you distinguish the equivalent ones in the right?

Anyone else that commented, welcome to the control group.

The technical jargon for my reference: The yellow-blue channel is increased by (0.23 * red-green channel); the achromatic channel is increased by (3.25 * red-green channel); the red-green channel is zeroed.

They look different, aside from the checkerboard on the bottom of the left one. It's kind of like the one on the right is darker, but that's not exactly it.

As for the checkerboard, I don't have a problem with it, but it's not the prettiest color combination. =o]

Hmmm. I'm not entirely sure of everything you're asking, so I'll just note everything I see.

On the left spectrum, I can clearly see a checkerboard pattern at the bottom. The lowest left square is red, the right square is green. The right side does not have a checkerboard, and that section is a different color from either the red or the green that I see on the left - it looks brown.

The upper portion of the left appears to be a full spectrum. The upper portion of the right is missing several colors - the bits that correspond to red and green appear to be the same color, as do the sections that correspond to light blue and the purple. The right-side red and green appear to be the same brown I described for the checkerboard), while the light blue and purple both appear to be light blue.

The right side's dark blue appears to be less intensely blue than the left side's.

The yellow is the same for both sides.

Any other questions?

I'll be a little crass and say the right one looks like poop, while the left one looks like a party.

However, [livejournal.com profile] scholarjeff's interpretation is how I see the images as well.
