Bass

I'm really starting to get sick of Marshall being my alarm clock for me. This is far from the first time that I've been woken up by a musicless pounding in my bed. But, to be fair, first I'll find the mitigating factors....

1) It's not his fault my cave-bed funnels low frequencies into itself and amplifies them.
2) It's not his fault when Robin sleeps here; she's a lot more sensitive to the noise than I am.
3) I'm not sure if quiet hours end at 11 or 12.
4) Yes, I know that they live up here so they can play bass, so I should put up with it.

But really, this is the third or fourth time that I've been dragged out of bed simply to escape the loudness. He watches movies on his computer, and turns up the bass to approximately as loud as it'd be in the theater, while the picture is in a 2" by 3" box on his screen. Is it really justified to turn the bass to a level that will beat your heart for you? Or if it's music, is it as worth listening to if the bass drowns out the melody, which is usually more interesting anyway?

Buuut, don't mind me. I'm not good company before breakfast.

I talked to Chris and Marshall about this stuff - they said that they want to live in East, and want to pla bass, so they pulled rooms up in this corner so they can be away from the people that don't want to deal with bass as constantly. And I can sympathize with that; I don't want to take away what they want to do simply because I don't want to go anywhere else. And if it really does get bad, I'll look into doing exactly that.

Would time suck switchign sides help alleviate any of this? Can you at least make a "no bass during quiet hours" rule - I mean, quiet hours really shoudl trump this, and quiet hours mean you shouldn't do stuff that can be heard in another room.
Can there be some compromise on when they can play bass and when they can't? I dunno....
