So my computer decided to whine for attention by 'forgetting' to reenable my network card after I shut down last night. This resulted in successive shock, swearing, calming down, reinstalling of drivers, more shock when it didn't help, then a dawning realization.

When I shut down last night I actually went through and shut each component down that I could reach. Apparently when I told my computer to disable the network card, it didn't realize that I wanted it enabled when I turned it back on. Obedient little thing that it is, it kept it disabled through this morning.

Confused, but well-intentioned, I'm sure. My computer is like a child.

At lunch, someone noticed that Chris K had a mix of Cheerios and Cocoa Puffs. The discussion evolved from there:

Which is the solute and which is the solvent, or are they both solutes in the milk?

What is the molarity of the solution in his cereal bowl?

Just how much space would a mole of Cocoa Puffs take up?

What if they hex-pack instead of cubic-pack?

Then wouldn't their gravity eventually crush them even closer together?

My calculations (they would have been back-of-an-envelope calculations, except I had no envelope, so they were just on my calculator) came up with, if they cubic-packed, they'd form a sphere about 523 km in radius.
