I borrowed Lori's bike, because I had to take some books back to various libraries and I had to go to Wells Fargo and get some more cash, and on each leg of the trip I revelled in the freedom. The wind over my face (amazingly, even her helmet fit on my head well enough), the clicking jerks of the gear shifting, my momentum pushing back against my legs, all of it was a sensation I hadn't realized I missed. Getting a bike (or even a pair of rollerblades) would be good for me in many ways - not the least of which is the horrible physical shape my body is in. I'd be much less prone to deteriorating in the Bubble if I can get out of it without the aggravation of walking. It doesn't make sense that I hate to walk, but I'll ride somewhere that'd take longer than walking somewhere closer without complaint.

Maybe I'm just a sucker for the breeze.
