SoultoothII got over the CD-ROM problems (ie, the installer not seeing it) and is working on its Windows 2000 install. The trackball works, so I don't have to use the annoying little nub. We'll see if the drivers I found for the CD will actually work for it or not. If so, I'll install the trackball and network card files, then reboot and see if the network card works - if so, I'll call if functional and throw a party. If not, well, I'm screwed.
I also got some MS-DOS (whee!) drivers for this CD-ROM, and will be looking for an old MS-DOS boot disk lying around the house. If I find one, it's the first step to getting Windows 98 back on SoultoothI, so I can leave it with my parents. The second step is figuring out if that driver is enough, or if I need a PCMCIA driver too. If the latter, hell if I know what to do from there.
