I am sitting at the big table in the math lounge with my marvelous laptop in front of me, enjoying the wireless network and generally being lazy. Robin and I are holed up at an Extended Stay for the week, in Orange - that's about 25 miles south of school, within bowshot of Arrowhead Pond. There's nothing to do down there, however, so we're spending most of our time up here.

Yeah, I've been out of touch all this time. Phoenix was.... well, I felt out of place, as a CS major at a mathematics conference, but it was better than being bored out of my skull at home. It was nice to see new scenery and have a new experience. The script is about half blocked, and I've got a week left in which to finish it off.

Other stuff I've been doing... Angband a little. Even when I cheat to be absurdly powerful it's pretty much just boring, anymore. I need a better flavor of crack for this computer. Any suggestions? It's a 266-MHz processor, 64 MB of memory, and a 800x600 monitor, running Windows 2000. I just want something that I can keep myself entertained with. Oh, and it doesn't run Java very well, so most webgames are out.

Life goes ever onward.

Final limiting factor on this computer is that I don't usually carry the CD drive around with me.

Civ II seems to run decently well, to give you an idea of the level I'm looking at.
