Feb. 3rd, 2004 12:58 pmI'm beginning to phase out my polevaulter icon. Already on AIM, it's been replaced by a can of SPAM until I find something better. Damn 48x48 resolution, can't do very much with it. (This section has nothing to do with the subject line. The rest does.)
People... and plays.

artificialfurr will be in a play at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. I really want to go, but it's pushing the limits of what I want to have to drive by myself.... that is to say, four hours either way. The farthest I've ever driven solo is two hours, and while I've driven four hours accompanied before, it wasn't all that great. Robin can't sacrifice 24 hours of her weekend like that, and I'd feel really sketchy inviting someone else along that Erin doesn't know. I may just suck it up and take the drive, hoping that my new mp3 cd actually plays in the $25 dollar player in the car.
Speaking of the car, it needs a looking at. It makes horrible squealing noises on starting, when it starts at all, and it could use an oil change in any case. Must find time to do that - this friday, I think.
And Katie is looking at flying out to see Rocky. When it was pretty much a joke, I could deal with the thought, but... eep. Sad as it is, I'm still not entirely stable in her presence, and I'll be frazzled enough that weekend even if everything goes swimmingly. But, we'll see. It's not an opportunity I'd pass up.
Since I'm a horrible masochist, I've been listening to nothing but my Instant Heartbreak playlist recently; that is to say, the select few songs from my collection that are the ones most likely to pierce me most deeply. I don't exactly have a reason for it, but I'm trying to figure it out.
And now I'm off: SciComp and 70.
