Not so triumphant
May. 29th, 2004 01:56 pmBut we have returned. The apartment is looking remarkably clean, given that we only returned to it yesterday, and slept for about twelve hours of the time since then. But most of the putting-away is now small stuff, plus the computers. There is still no phone there, let alone DSL. But it is livable again, and the fridge is stocked and we'll be eating. The sound equipment fits nicely in the closet (I picked up the microphones, but the bases have twice as many outputs as I'd expected, so I need to go back and get two more cables; ridiculously, the 5' cables cost $10 each).
Getting all the computers finally hooked up could be interesting. The only place it really makes sense to have them is along the interior wall of the living room, and the only phone jack in the living room is in the kitchen. So, however we wire it, there's going to be at least one cord stretched across the door to the bedroom. It's what happens, though. Just need to make sure to string the cord *over* the door so a hypothetical cat can't reach it to claw at.
Nothing exciting, really.
