Ponderings
Sep. 15th, 2004 12:42 pmNeedless to say, I've been feeling ... odd, lately. I'm not sure odd is the right word for it. I'm not sure there is a right word for it. A combination of ansty, stressed, disoriented, and misplaced; I guess odd is about the best I can get. It crossed my mind that maybe I need some subtle, yet tangible change, once every couple years. That idea was immediately chased across my mind by an entourage of followers and admirers (in decreasing order of drasticness):
Run off for a year and exercise everything but the analytical portion of my brain. Travel the country and the world, learn music and art, beg for food on the streets of Europe. (This is right out.)
Get a tattoo. (Er, probably not. Can't think of anything that I don't imagine regretting.)
Get a piercing. (Here is where the ideas start becoming feasible. Ear(s) or otherwise.)
Change in clothing style. (I gotta say, I actually liked wearing MacKenzie's skirt at the club fair. It'd amuse me to no end to occasionally throw people off like that for no obvious reason.)
Haircut. (Nothing ridiculously drastic; I like my long hair. But it could stand to lose anywhere from two to eight inches.)
Hair dye. (I walked away from dorm auctions with a bottle of blue hair dye. For best results, hair is bleached first. This however would set a precedent - either I'd be blond for at least a year while hair grew out, or I'd be committed to semi-regular dyeing.)
Thoughts? Other ideas? Bus tickets to Europe?
