Icing on the cake

So I tried to boot my laptop this morning, and its only response was an insistent, and intolerable, repeated beeping. Occasionally I cuold get such changes out of it as failure to read the hard drive, or "floppy boot error" (never mind that there's no floppy drive). So, it's dead. The only part I can usefully get to to change is the hard drive; the memory is proprietary from Itronix and the motherboard is, well, yeah. If anyone out there thinks the drive might be the problem, I can try replacing it (if I can get another drive); otherwise, that computer might as well be a loss. Big, tasty paperweight.

Rest in peace, SoultoothII. I'll find a more fitting farewell sometime.
