So, this evening, I took Lori, Hilary, and Clay to the movies. They saw Hitchhiker's Guide; since I've already seen that movie, I left them to it and saw Kung Fu Hustle instead. More on the movie later; the most amusing part was when I got back in my car.
I turned the car on to discover that the headlights were off. In my car, such a thing is preposterous. I never touch my headlight switch; they shut off when the key is taken out, and that's all I need. it's a habit instilled in me by my parents. So, somehow, my headlights had been turned off. I then also realized that not only were my headlights not working, I couldn't read the clock on my radio. We decided someone must have broken into my car, tried to steal the radio, broken the backlight on the LCD display, decided that it wasn't worth it, turned my headlights off, and politely relocked my door. This after acknowledging that it would have been far too much of a coincidence for me to have opened a different car with my key, parked in the same spot, with Lori's book in the back seat.
Kung Fu Hustle was a great movie. Subtitled, it was pretty much a kung fu movie, with a healthy dose of gangster movie, and a whole lot of mocking for both genres. I definitely enjoyed it, at least the once.
