The steps on my pads are getting noticeably concave, curving up around the outside. I see a few things this could be an effect of:
- The padding under the steps (above the foam itself) on the Ignition 3.0 is thicker and softer than on the 2.0. I don't know if this is the same padding that keeps the two contact layers off each other; if it is, it's a sign I'm wearing through it.
- The 3.0 also has the weird raised step thing, that keeps the pad top from being completely smooth instead of wrinking around the corners. I don't really like this, so I could be convinced to blame it.
- Overuse. In certain turns and weight shifts, I have a tendency to rotate the foot that all my weight is on. This drills the ball of my foot into the pad, and probably presses down with 200 pounds or more of force for a fairly extended period. If this is the case, and it gets noticeably worse in the next few weeks, I can call in the warranty and get new pads. Yay.
