Caranoia

Waiting for a light in Upland this morning, my car's engine changed very distinctly in tone. The regular droning had been unmistakably joined by a second sound, higher in pitch but definitely in the engine, rising and falling with it. I wasn't sure what to think, so kept going, but this afternoon waiting in traffic I realized that it was idling a lot higher than it usually does. So, visions of my car falling apart aside, I think it's time to get the 175,000 mile check a little early.
