So. Vernie thinks she's finally convinced Easton to pay for certification for the rec class helpers.
This basically means that sometime in October, I will be sacrificing an entire weekend to a twelve-hour class - unless it happens all on one day *shudder* - and walk out with either a Level 1 or Level 2 NAA Archery Instructor Certification. That means that I can officially teach beginner or intermediate archery classes, complete with a generous insurance policy in case anything goes horribly wrong. Not only does this mean that the rec classes will have a lot more options, the certification will be valid wherever I go. It's potentially more fun - and certainly rarer - than the BS in CS that I'm also headed for. Not that I exactly know how to turn such a thing to good use, but I really do like the idea of having the option.
This does mean I should start saving up for my own equipment - after all, I only have access to my current stuff until May. I'd really like to be able to take archery with me, without having to rely on rental gear. I figure if I keep up with the rec classes, and save that money, I'll be able to afford something equivalent to what I'm shooting now by spring.
