Pain

My hip hurts like a bitch - usually I have better balance on skates than that. But last night I was dragging Jeremy around the ice on a bucket and underestimated the spin, my skates went out from under me and I landed flat on my side. Ouch.

My little surprise seems intact. None of you will be spilling it I trust...! Just in case I am going to lock the posts concerning it for the next few days.

I have my music now!

I ended up digging out my old discman anyway, then realized that until I needed it, I could plug it into the speakers hooked to the other monitor in my room. (I didn't hook it to my computer simply because the cord wasn't nearly long enough.) So I've been shaking through insecurities and insabilities with doses of Moulin Rouge, Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri (I'm getting my butt kicked though) and moving with Sting.

On a less optimistic note, I regretable had to turn down an offer to go to an Avalanche game with a friend, and couldn't refer said friend to a better recipient for the available ticket. It's what I get, I suppose, for acting rashly, but it's what I want to do so there's no looking back.

Now, there's nothing for me to do but look for some reasonable reading material, and hope that the books I have as gifts are appropriate. One feels far below the intellectual level of its recipient, the other feels like a blatant plug for Colorado tourism. There's a very good reason I dislike gift giving, but I really feel like the people in question deserve it.
