Bike ride

Man, do I feel out of shape.

I finally decided to take full advantage of my bicycle. I hopped on and started riding south, with no real destination in mind. (Fun fact: Heather was right. Linde is closer to McConnell than it is to Platt.) By the time I reached First street, I made a right and headed west, no longer with gravity on my side. Turned north on College, after a break for water, and started pushing my way up the hill through Pomona and CGU. When I hit Twelth street, I stopped again for water.... and suddely found the contrast in my eyes reeling, deep shadows sinking between bright spots. I let my bike fall and sank beneath a pathetic little tree, the only shade around, and drank water until my mind righted itself. Any ideas of making a north leg were shunted out, and I made my way back the quarter-mile to Linde. All told, no more than a three-mile ride, and I'm already this tired. Sigh.... I need to do that more often, until I can actually handle it. Maybe when it's not so hot and sunny, but more, nevertheless.

But now I can sit and be a bum.
