Power outage, 8:20
Apr. 6th, 2004 11:53 amI think the utter silence actually woke me up. I found myself suddenly bolt awake, sensing that something was somehow wrong. Considering the early hour, I figured it out amazingly fast. Maybe it was that the alarm clock was dark, or tht the bathroom light was out, or that the whirring hums of computer and air conditioner were nowhere to be found.
There was light filtering in through the curtains, so I dug around to find my watch, and confirmed that nothing had in fact been missed; and set an alarm to ensure nothing would, in case the power didn't come back soon. Only on crawling back into bed did I realize that my SciComp final had been running for almost 24 hours, and now the power was out.
All over campus.
Including the LAC.
When I went over to restart it, there was a class going on in there, so it finally got restarted (with some domain and resolution adjustments) at 11:20 when I was back from shopping. A setback, but I have plenty of time still.
In other news I now have glowsticks, electrical tape, and plenty of other wonderful stuff.
