The ISDN modem in this house has a "handy" feature that, when automatic calling is turned off (in order to keep the modem from connecting as a result of stray LAN traffic), we have to access the modem, tell it to make the call, and then tell it to hang up when we're done.

This makes it more difficult for me to log on every hour or two, obsessively check the four or five places where there might be something new and/or interesting, and log off again.

There's not really all that much new OR interesting, let alone both.

Neither of these problems are keeping me from logging on every hour or two and checking, anyway.

Copy... paste. Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] cairpaverl.

So, given that I have a phone number, I've called it three times. Once last night to see if it was the right one, hanging up when I realized I was not nearly coherent enough to leave a message, once an hour or so later to leave an actual message, then once earlier today. Still no answer.

So, I don't know. If I keep this up, at what point do I stop being concerned and become creepy instead? I don't know. I've been asked this before. I had an answer, then. Now I don't have one for myself.

I'm worried. I have every reason to believe I shouldn't be. And so now I'm still worried, and I feel immature on top of it. But if I don't get in touch by tomorrow night, it'll be somewhat too late.

I don't know.
