So, there will be no DisOrientation as we know it this year. Here's the story as I interpreted it when Cal told me:
End of last year, Linde registers a party for Dis-O Friday (being tonight).
East registers Dis-O a few days later.
Social proceeds to disappear from all contact for the summer.
Fall comes and Social comes back saying they'll only fund one party each night, and Linde asked first, so we can't have Dis-O.
We say we'll put on the party without funding. Social says we have to register parties two weeks in advance.
The end.
Needless to say, this peeves me to no end, because I'm wondering how it would have turned out if it were, say, Linde and North competing over party night, but that's neither here nor there. Instead, I say we just find our own wackycrazy things to do tonight. If I recall correctly, there's a bowling place on Foothill that has cheap late-night bowling from something like midnight to 2 on Friday nights/saturday mornings. I'll be around today and/or tonight if anyone's interested, or if anyone's got anything else to do.
Experiments show that leaving the computer on all the time increases the electric bill by 50%. So this is not going to be on when I'm not actually here.
